The Six Nations competition see the Welsh and the Irish stand on top of the table and all teams prepare to regroup with a weekend off. In week one the Irish were brilliant against the French, and last week the Welsh lifted in a spirited display to take the points against an improving England.
It is a fascinating competition this year with 4 of the six teams having legitimate claims to the title. The Italians still appear to be well out of their depth which is a little disappointing after a few years in the competition and the Scottish are seeing slow improvement but still appear a few years off. When the teams return we are set for two titanic struggles with the undefeated teams looking to end the season of the competition's traditional powerhouses in England and France. The French will host the Welsh in Paris in what will be a titanic struggle. The French have to win, plain and simple, but the Welsh will know that a victory will set them up to take the title. The Irish host the English in what will be a very tough encounter for the English. If they win they can come back and win the competition. The Irish will be hoping that with a win they will be able to clinch the title and play for a clean sweep in the last week of the competition. I really think the Irish can win and I would hate to back against the French at home. A few weeks ago I tipped the Irish as excellent value for the title and see no reason to go off them. It will all rest in the hands of the Welsh however and their ability to lift against a hungry French outfit still angry at their World Cup performance at home. News CategoriesRSS xml feed
