Tennis - US Open Preview

Nadal is one hell of a tennis player. We all thought Federer was cruising towards tennis immortality and the mantle of the games greatest. The only person on the planet that didn't except this scenario was a young Spaniayard with courage, spunk, heart and one hell of a game.

I have always felt Federer needed to win the French to become the best ever. Nadal has always been labelled the best ever on clay but has been branded a one court wonder. All that changed this year at Wimbledon and one would think a win at either the US or Australian Open for Nadal will start talk about how good he really is and where he lines up against the games greatest ever.

The US open appears to again be a race in three and Partybets.com has Nadal at favourite at $2.75, Federer at second pick at $3.00 and Djokovic at $3.75. What an incredible market. Nadal needs this tournament to prove he is the all round best player in the game at the moment, Federer has to win another major soon or he might start to wonder how long he wishes to keep playing and tarnishing his record and forme Djokovic is the best player on hard courts in the game. For this reason (and of course the value) I am going to have a little on the Serbian but for a game that is in desperate need of rivalry this US Open could be one for the record books.
