Test Cricket is always a spectacle both on and off the field. The fourth and last test between the English and the South Africans is about to start and even though the South Africans have taken the series already 2-0, there is still incredible interest in this game.
A few years ago Michael Vaughan was the toast of England and world cricket when he humbled the Aussies and won back the Ashes. That seemed an awfully long time ago when Vaughan looked like a broken man as he relinquished his hold on the English cricket team as he stepped down as captain. He is a good batsman and a good captain, but the pressure of injury and poor form from both himself and his team made it too hard for him to carry on. The man they have turned to in their hour of need is Kevin Peterson. It's not the first time the Poms put a South African born captain in charge of its team. The most notable was Tony Greig who was one of their very best. The one thing that's for sure is that Peterson won't die wondering and you would think he will either be an overwhelming success or an absolute disaster. The betting at Sportsbet.com.au has the draw as a clear favourite at $2.10, followed by South Africa at $2.80 and England at $4.20. I am going to have a little dabble at the Poms as I think they have a strong batting line up and any team that features "Super" Freddy Flintoff has to be some sort of chance.
