US Open Preview - Will Tiger Win Another Major This Week

The US Open is stooped in tradition and defined by excellence. For some strange reason I have a feeling that this is going to be a special year. The thing that has everyone's tastebuds tantalized is the starting group of Tiger Woods, Phil Mickleson and Adam Scott. What more could any golfing public want? One thing is for certain it will be mayhem from the gallery as people will cram in to see a three way match up like this.
So who is going to win, that is always the 60 Million dollar question? I always say this because I believe it to be true; if Tiger plays at 80% he wins, it's that simple. The question over the great one is how he will come back after a fairly long break. Tiger is great value and you

will get a better price than normal due to a few form and fitness questions at around $3.50. Mickleson is a clear cut second favourite and is far too short for my liking at under 10/1. Mickleson is a great player but he is far from the clear cut second best chance in this tournament and I would be happy to lay him. Partybets.com has Woods at $1.57 head to head against Mickleson over 72 holes which I think is fantastic value.
Adam Scott is an interesting runner. Ability doesn't seem to be the problem here but he certainly has never shown anywhere near his best in the most important of all arenas, the Majors. It is hard to say how he will respond to playing in this well heralded group. If he has a competitive first few days he could certainly figure and you will get a nice price over 20/1.
Retief Goosen is certainly my best bet of the tournament. His game is certainly up to standard to win this tournament and you can expect to get better than 30/1 at Parybets.com. He certainly offers plenty of value at this price and I would have him as the next best chance behind Tiger.
The great thing about golf is that is you are lucky enough to snare a winner you will get paid. Partybets.com has some fantastic options when it comes to betting on golf. Some of the value runners to win this year's Open include Justin Leonard at 50/1, Stuart Appleby at 80/1, Steve Stricker at 125/1 and Matt Kulcher at 150/1.
