UFC 85 - Mixed Martial Arts Preview2008-06-03
James Potter
UFC 85 is about to come blasting at you from the England and there are some great betting bouts on offer for the astute fight fan. You have to love the UFC, it has more muscle than boxing and more drama than the Wrestling and you can make money out of it. Does it get any better than that? Partybets.com has an excellent book on the upcoming fights so throw on a few dollars and order that pay for view.
Matt Hughes is a short priced favourite against Thiago Alves. You would think Hughes has plenty to fight for but I will be taking the underdog at the $2.70. I am far from convinced that Hughes will ever be the fighter he used to be and Alves is certainly on the way up not on the way down. The special of the night is Michael "the Count" Bisping who will have more fire power than Jason Day. Bisping will also have a mountain of support from his home town crowd and I would be taking the $1.25 in any multiples. Thiago Tavares should also have too much firepower for Matt "handsome" Wiman. $1.20 is not a great price but you would think Wiman's best hope is to still remain "handsome" by the end of the fight. The Irishman Marcus Davis is one crazy fellow and his bout against Mike Swick might be the fight of the night. It is a tight betting affair and one that I really think could go either way. So whenever that is the case you have two options. A, don't have a bet or B, take the value. I always prefer the latter option. So in that case I will be taking Davis at $1.91 and hoping to get a good three rounds of action. News CategoriesRSS xml feed
