AFL - Round Ten Preview2008-05-29
James Potter
What is it about the Sydney Swans. Year after year the knockers start to say that the downfall is on its way. The list is too old, their limited marquee players are well past their best, their kids are no good are just a few of the lines directed against them time and time again. And time and time again they prove everyone wrong.
Firstly Paul Roos is one hell of a coach. His list has never been the strongest but he is a master at finding out what makes his players tick and utilizing the upper limits of their ability and talent. He has also built a culture that revolves around commitment to the cause and the common good of the team very much like Mathews achieved at Brisbane. The other great story of the weekend was the Bulldogs return to peak form knocking off the Hawks. The loss to the Roo's the weekend before was widely tipped as the begging of the end for the courageous dogs but they certainly proved they have the gumption to bounce back and be serious contenders. Now to this weekend's round of football. It seems that I tend to pot the Bombers every week. It isn't far from the truth and the Hawks should bounce back and easily blow away the hapless Don's. I think the Tigers can turn it around against Adelaide this weekend also. The Crows are nearly always tough but their form is looking shaky and Richmond are certainly better than they showed last weekend. Sportsbet.com.au is the home of AFL punting and here are the rest of my line tips for the week; Geelong, West Coast, Brisbane, St Kilda, Port, Collingwood. News CategoriesRSS xml feed
