Wachovia Open Preview2008-04-29
James Potter
Adam Scott forced his way back into the top 5 golfers in the world by sinking a massive putt in a playoff last weekend. The young Australian played well all weekend and even though he appeared to be faltering late Sunday afternoon he sank the putt when it mattered and came away with another title. The only thing Scott really needs to do now is to feature in the business end of a major. There is no questioning the kid's talent but there was no questioning Greg Norman's either, and his poor showing in Majors was a blight on his career.
This week we turn our attention to the Quail Hollow Club that will host the Wachovia Open. It's a beautiful course and features the "Green Mile" which is considered three of the hardest finishing holes in golf. Tiger won it last year but won't be returning, giving the top notch field, featuring 18 of the top 25 in the world, extra confidence when teeing off. So more importantly who is going to win? Well this is always the million dollar question and the absence of the great one only makes it that much tougher. You will certainly get a good price on the winner and I have always found PartyBets to be one of the best sports betting sites when it comes to golf as their markets are fiercely competitive and there are plenty of interesting bets, like head to head match ups. I am going to recommend a couple of Americans and a couple of Europeans. Firstly the Americans I fancy are Steve Stricker and Stewart Cink and both should be suited to this style of course. You can expect both of these to be a little under the 30/1 quote but both have excellent chances. The other two I will have a nibble at are two Europeans that promise plenty but often fail to deliver. Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose are two of the most talented golfers in the world but sometimes fail to win enough to really break through into the world's very best. You can expect to get around 40/1 about these two which is very juicy if this weekend proves to be the time they show us their true colours. The best thing about golf is that you can take a few options, follow your favourites around the course and get a nice little pay day if you choose correctly. Hope you make the cut and your putts fall! Check out PartyBets for all your golf betting needs. News CategoriesRSS xml feed
