The New Zealand press is calling for the head of Australian, David Nucifora the coach of the Auckland Blues. The Blues started off the season in tremendous style and was a clear cut second favourite to take the title. Things have gone awfully wrong since then and rock bottom was hit last weekend when they lost at home to a Brumbies team that would struggle to beat a quality under-13 side.
Nucifora is a good coach - he has tasted success already in the Super 14's and can feel desperately unlucky that he wasn't given the top job at the Wallabies when it was given to Knuckles Connelly for the ill fated 2007 World Cup campaign. Nucifora, however, who has been linked with taking over the reigns at the Waratah's next year, has got some serious questions to answer. The Blues side is chock full of talent though they seem to be running around on egos. This is not the first Blues side to be guilty of this and you have to wonder if it's the coach or simply the entire franchise that is on the nose. The Waratah's were impressive winning against the Force over in Western Australia in a game that represented the best Australian hopes of making the semis.
