James Potter
Well its time for the league season to kick off and what a first up encounter we have. In the red corner we have the South Sydney Rabbitohs taking on the Sydney City Roosters in the blue. This game is too tough to call in a game that will see two mortal enemies try and scratch out each others eyes for the whole 80 minutes. The only thing you can do is crack open a cold beer and cheer on the Rabbitohs because everyone hates the Roosters. You should be able to get even money or a little better as the Roosters will start just favourites.

The rest of the week is also pretty tough when it comes to the punting side of things. Probably my bet of the round is Parramatta to cover the -4.5 against the

Bulldogs. The doggies are a shadow of what they were last year and I think the Eels are the second best team going around this year.

Titans and the Cowboys are also tough to call and betting is very close. Titans are at home but the Cowboys should win if they are serious about being a top 4 team.

Manly should be Cronulla just as Brisbane should beat Penrith but in both games the line appears to be in the right spot and I would like to have a look at these four teams before having a bet.

The other two good betting games of the round see the Newcastle Knights hosts the Canberra Raiders. This looms as a major battle for avoiding the wooden spoon and I think the Knights should win at home and cover the -4.5. The Wests Tigers get +2.5 against the St George Dragons and in a game that should be close you might want to take the start.

The last game of the week will see the Melbourne Storm take on the NZ Warriors. I love watching the Warriors and they will come out firing and should be very competitive this year. They are taking on the best though, and I think that they will struggle to stay within the +11.5 line down in Melbourne.
