San Antonio - The value in today's NBA2007-11-06
Ben Williams
The first week of the NBA has been and gone. Week two is about to commence.
Durant has excelled, Yi is slowly warming to his role in Milwaukee and the Spurs keep winning. Today's play will focus on that team who keep winning - the reigning NBA champions San Antonio Spurs. There is only one selection today, as it appears to be a hard schedule with many 'flip-of-the-coin' games. San Antonio have not played since last Friday (2-NOV) and are 3-0 this season having beaten Sacramento, Memphis and Portland by a combined total of 30 points. Sure signs that a back-to-back season is on the cards. Today, the Spurs travel to Houston - a team with a lot of upside and potential, with a healthy Tracy McGrady. Houston haven't put a foot wrong in the first week of the season - that was prior to yesterday when they ran into Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks. Houston lost by 9 on the road and within twenty-four hours they have to front up against San Antonio. The mail is that two games against two powerhouse sides of the west within twenty-four hours will take its toll on the Rockets. It should be noted that the Spurs and Rockets split 4 games between them last year - of which the away team won each time (San Antonio being away tonight). San Antonio have won their past 31 of 39 against Houston and appear to have the edge in this early season matchup between two competitive divisional rivals. The early Vegas line of -1.5 on the Spurs @ 1.91 appears to be very generous. Take this with confidence. News CategoriesRSS xml feed
