Vince Young in some doubt for the Titans2007-10-21
Damien Oborne
An intriguing match-up in week seven of the NFL is between improving young sides Tennessee and Houston.
Houston hosts a Tennessee team that could be without injured superstar quarterback Vince Young and running back Chris Brown. Young is nursing a quadriceps injury that was suffered last week in the Titan's loss to Tampa Bay. Coach Jeff Fisher stated "He will still be a game time decision, but it was encouraging to see him on the field today. I think in his mind he targeted Friday and he has worked very hard to get comfortable to be able to do things. He did some soft throwing yesterday and it was good to see him increase the activity." Although Young might take part in the game there is plenty of doubt on his fitness. When you add the doubt on leading rusher Brown, Houston has a golden opportunity to knock off a division rival and improve to a record of 4-3. Young had not practiced until Friday when he took some snaps with the scout team. Veteran quarterback Kerry Collins has been taking first teams snaps in the place of Young and has stated he is ready to lead the Titans if required on Sunday. Collins completed 10 of 20 passes for 125 yards when playing in place of Young last week. The Texans are the opposite of the Titans on the injury front to star players. Wide receiver Andre Johnson could provide a massive boost to the offense by returning this week. Johnson had a fantastic first two games catching 14 passes for 262 yards and 3 touchdowns. Ahman Green will also be improved after one game back from a knee injury. The Texans were very impressive in starting the season 2-0 with the big output from Johnson. Add the improvement to Green and quarterback Matt Schaub will have the necessary tools to run an effective Texan offense. With so many crucial question marks hanging over Young and Brown for the Titans, this is a great opportunity for Houston. The Houston Texans are currently 1.98 at Sportsbet. This is fantastic value that is worth taking advantage of. News CategoriesRSS xml feed
